About The Position

The Procurement Specialist I is responsible for supporting the procurement process for Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas. This entry-level role involves assisting with purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement or a related supply chain role.
  • Basic understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and technologies.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Source new vendors and suppliers, and maintain a database of approved vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers for standard materials and services under supervision.
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delivery discrepancies.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Assist in conducting market research to identify new products, services, and potential cost savings.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Participate in inventory management activities as required.
