About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program in Huntsville, Alabama. This role acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. The manager will oversee employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines, focusing on the acquisition of goods and services, supplier assessment and performance improvement, and the management and enhancement of supply chain processes. Key activities include developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies, setting operational goals, acquiring resources, providing technical management of suppliers, and leading process improvements. The role also involves developing and maintaining relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, processes, and negotiation strategies.

Requirements

• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
• More than 5 years of experience in Supplier Management/ Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer
• More than 5 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
• More than 5 years of experience in constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects or Leadership review
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
• Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools
• Manages, develops and motivates employees
