About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program in New Orleans, Louisiana. This position acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. The role involves managing employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines who perform activities related to the acquisition of goods and services to support company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, and the management and improvement of supply chain management and processes. The manager will develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals. They will acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, processes, and negotiation processes and related tools. The manager will also manage, develop, and motivate employees.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • More than 5 years of experience in Supplier Management/ Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer
  • More than 5 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 5 years of experience in constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects or Leadership review
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
