About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. The manager will oversee employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines who perform activities related to the acquisition of goods and services. This includes supplier assessment and performance improvement, and the management and improvement of supply chain management and processes. The role involves developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, and setting operational goals. The manager will acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Additionally, they will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, as well as negotiation processes and related tools. The position requires managing, developing, and motivating employees.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
More than 5 years of experience in Supplier Management/ Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer
More than 5 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
More than 5 years of experience in constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects or Leadership review
Ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
