About The Position

The Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of aseptic packaging, cartons, flexible films, and corrugated materials used across SunOpta’s Better-for-You Beverage and Fruit Snacks product portfolios. The role drives supplier performance, cost savings, innovation, and supply continuity, and serves as SunOpta’s category representative for assigned enterprise and globally negotiated categories. Food manufacturing packaging procurement experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
At least 7 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in the assigned category.
Negotiation skills.
Analytical and financial skills.
Stakeholder influence skills.

Nice To Haves

CPM, CPSM, or similar certification.
Food manufacturing experience; packaging procurement experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories.
Lead strategic supplier negotiations and contract management to optimize value and ensure supply assurance.
Monitor market trends, supply dynamics, and emerging risks to inform procurement strategies.
Manage supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, and corrective action plans.
Identify and execute cost reduction, productivity, and value creation opportunities.
Assess supply risks and implement mitigation and continuity plans.
Serve as SunOpta’s representative for assigned enterprise and globally sourced categories, supporting strategy implementation, supplier engagement, contract compliance, and internal stakeholder alignment.
Partner with Operations, Finance, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain to support business objectives.
