About The Position

Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement, sourcing, and material planning in a high-mix, high-volume environment with more than 10,000 SKUs and 100+ suppliers. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for demand planning, supplier performance, and supply chain efficiency. The manager will lead a team and partner with commercial, operations, and finance teams to support business objectives. The role involves frequent travel to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, including 70–80% onsite during the first 90 days, as well as occasional supplier visits. Candidates must live in the Southeastern U.S. The position offers flexible hours, with core schedules of 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; hours may vary with business needs. Sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

At least 7 years of hands-on procurement or supply chain experience.
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial distribution environment.
Desire to lead a team.
Expertise in demand planning, supplier management, and negotiation.
Proficiency in Excel and ERP.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement, sourcing, and material planning team.
Use existing systems and emerging AI tools to strengthen demand planning processes.
Monitor markets, cost drivers, and supplier capabilities to support supply chain reliability.
Establish and monitor KPIs and objectives for procurement and supply chain performance.
Own supplier relationships and support the addition of new suppliers as needed.
Establish team KPIs, accountability structures, and growth goals.
Champion a culture of solutions, execution, and continuous improvement.
Partner with commercial, operations, and finance teams on cross-functional projects.
Identify process and technology improvements to drive efficiency.
