The Procurement Liaison Engineer (PLE) is part of the Electron-Ion Collider project team at Jefferson Lab and serves as the primary liaison between the EIC Project and the JLab Procurement Department. The Electron-Ion Collider project is a major Department of Energy partnership project led by Jefferson Lab and Brookhaven National Lab to build a next-generation electron-ion collider for fundamental physics research. The PLE is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all procurement activities associated with Jefferson Lab's scope of the EIC Project – primarily accelerator magnets, superconducting radiofrequency cryomodules, cryoplants and cryogenic systems, and components for the ePIC detector. The PLE will work with engineers, scientists, and procurement officers to coordinate procurement, including developing schedules and vendors, assisting with and reviewing statements of work and other technical documents needed for procurement packages, developing and maintaining trackers and producing status reports, reporting to project and laboratory leadership on procurement status and issues, and coordinating with project partners and stakeholders. If time permits, the PLE may also assist with these activities on other Jefferson Lab projects.
