About The Position

For one of our clients, a major aircraft manufacturer based in Montreal, we are seeking a Liaison Engineer. In this role, you will serve as the link between shop-floor operations and engineering by analyzing structural repairs, performing stress assessments, and working directly with the MRB team on the aircraft. This is an on-site technical liaison role requiring presence in the office five days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. A technical degree combined with significant aerospace experience will also be considered.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Engineering MRB (Material Review Board) delegation following a period of on-the-job training.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft cabin interiors, metallic and composite aircraft structures, and aircraft systems installation.
  • Sound technical judgment and a practical problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in navigating and reviewing engineering mock-ups using CATIA V5.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and disposition cabin and aircraft structural nonconformities identified during completion activities, flight testing, and aircraft delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Methods, and Quality teams while providing technical support.
  • Consult with engineering specialists (Flight Sciences, Stress, Flammability, Systems, and others) to ensure optimal resolution of technical issues.
  • Work with suppliers on components that fall outside the manufacturer's design authority.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and aircraft manuals. Ensure strict adherence to design intent when replacing, reworking, or accepting nonconforming items.
  • Participate in the Product Integrity Committee.
  • Anticipate end-customer needs and requirements and incorporate them into technical decision-making.
