Procurement Internship Summer 2027

Peco Foods•Canton, MS

About The Position

Peco Foods' Summer Internship Program offers college students hands-on experience exploring procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management within a vertically integrated poultry company. The Procurement Intern works directly with the Director of Procurement and the Procurement team to learn how purchasing decisions, supplier relationships, and cost management affect business operations. The internship provides exposure to corporate and plant-level activities, opportunities to apply classroom knowledge, and participation in meaningful projects. During the 10–12-week internship, running from late May through early August, the intern will learn about procurement operations, including strategic sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, inventory, and supply chain processes. The intern will evaluate purchasing and operational data, such as spending, pricing, usage, supplier performance, and cost trends; investigate purchasing needs; and translate findings into recommendations. The role includes contributing to a procurement or cost-improvement project and presenting recommendations to leadership. The intern will also receive coaching and feedback, work alongside procurement and operations professionals, and visit company facilities to understand how purchased materials and services support plant operations.
