Constellation is the largest private-sector power producer in the world and the nation's largest producer of clean and reliable energy. This role is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The position performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of Power plant operations, acting as a resource and technical expert to engineers. The role is responsible for technical decisions and possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application, with detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. The role requires specialty skills and performs advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review. Engineering tasks are performed independently, and expert knowledge is actively imparted to others. This role has a higher level of accountability than an Engineer 3A and requires the ability to manage and implement engineering analysis and technical programs, with wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities. Department Specific Roles/Responsibilities include defending the plant design and licensing basis, preparation and approval of design outputs and plant changes, supporting installation and testing of plant systems and components, and ensuring the plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in plant documents. For 2B & 3A Levels, duties include providing in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs; providing technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems; performing complete task management of engineering issues; performing engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision; performing independent research, reviews, studies and analyses; and recommending equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. For the 3B Level, in addition to the above, duties include fulfilling engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations and reliability, implementing Procurement Engineering processes and programs that comply with Engineering design and technical specification requirements for Nuclear Power Plants, and being accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
