The role is hybrid and requires an on-site presence weekly. The primary purpose of this position is to perform advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of Power plant operations while acting as a resource and technical expert to engineers. The role is responsible for technical decisions and requires excellent knowledge in the functional discipline and its practical application, along with detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. The role requires specialty skills and the performance of advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review. Engineering tasks are performed independently, and expert knowledge is actively imparted to others. The role has a higher level of accountability than an Engineer 3A and requires the ability to manage and implement engineering analysis and technical programs. There is wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities. Department-specific responsibilities include defending the plant design and licensing basis, preparation and approval of design outputs and plant changes in accordance with approved processes and design requirements, supporting installation and testing of plant systems and components and facility changes, and ensuring the plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in the plant documents.
