This role is for a Procurement Engineer, Supply, and can be filled at multiple levels (Engineer 2B, Engineer 3A, or Engineer 3B). The position requires excellent knowledge in the functional discipline, practical application, and detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Specialty skills and advanced tasks are performed independently with minimal supervisory review. The role also involves managing and implementing engineering analysis and technical programs, with a wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities. Department-specific roles include defending the plant design and licensing basis, preparing and approving design outputs and plant changes, supporting installation and testing, and ensuring plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in plant documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or science or related field with three (3) years experience (2B Level).
  • Current Employees Only: 1-year engineer 2A experience (2B Level).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical Program and 5 years of experience, or 9 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree (3A Level).
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated solid or better results for at least 2-years and works independently in assigned areas of knowledge and skills (3A Level).
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated ability to assist and mentor junior engineers on technical, as well as, HU/THU fundamentals (3A Level).
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated solid or better results for at least 2-years (3A Level).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field and 7-years professional experience (3B Level).
  • Current Employees Only: 1-year as Engineer 3A (3B Level).
  • Current Employees Only: Has completed assigned skills and knowledge development training (applicable Advanced Engineering, EPRI, and Constellation University training or industry provided training) to develop expert level of knowledge in designated areas (3B Level).

Nice To Haves

  • Procurement Engineer experience within nuclear industry, highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers in key knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in leading cross functional initiatives at an asset/plant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Provide complete task management of engineering issues.
  • Perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects.
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Directly and through subordinates, fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operations and reliability (3B Level).
  • Implement Procurement Engineering processes and programs that comply with Engineering design and technical specification requirements for Nuclear Power Plants (3B Level).
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications (3B Level).
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs (3B Level).
  • Defend the plant design and licensing basis.
  • Preparation and approval of design outputs and plant changes in accordance with approved processes and design requirements.
  • Support installation and testing of plant systems and components and facility changes.
  • Ensure the plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in the plant documents.
