About The Position

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Procurement Co-op Student/Intern for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 (September to April) work terms to support the Procurement team within Finance. BCI manages a globally diversified portfolio of gross assets valued at $295 billion and is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. The Finance department is responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuations, financial statements, financial reporting, budgeting, tax structuring and compliance, finance client engagement, finance operations, procurement, and investment performance and analytics. The Finance department strives to be a trusted advisor by providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial information and analysis.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
  • Must be able to complete co-ops/internships in person at the Victoria office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various projects under the supervision of the Supervisor, Procurement Operations.
  • Perform contract administration activities, including updating contract records and tracking systems throughout the contract life cycle.
  • Assist with contract worker onboarding and offboarding at BCI.
  • Prepare reports on procurement and contract activities as requested.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing activities, including distributing documents, compiling bidding documents, issuing amendments, and scheduling interviews.
  • Provide general administrative services, including document preparation, formatting, scanning, data entry, records management, creating and updating charts/diagrams/PowerPoint presentations, and ad-hoc administrative requests.
