About The Position

The Procurement Associate works under general supervision to obtain competitive quotes, negotiate prices and terms, and recommend vendors for supplies, equipment, and services. The role maintains inventory control of stock items to meet requisition needs across all Zoo departments and prepares and processes required reports and records. The position reports to the Director of Food Service Operations. It is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires work in excess of 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma, with previous experience in warehousing, stocking, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and related areas, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Required certification in food service sanitation.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Valid driver's license and eligibility to be insured by the fleet insurance carrier.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of hands-on experience as a buyer, purchasing agent, or procurement specialist is preferred.
