About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a full-time Procurement Associate to support its mission to “Enjoy. Inspire. Educate. Act!” Under general supervision, this role obtains competitive quotes, negotiates prices and terms, and recommends vendors for supplies, equipment, and services. The associate also maintains inventory control of stock items to meet requisition needs across all departments and prepares and processes required reports and records.

The Procurement Associate reports to the Director of Food Service Operations. The position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires working more than 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma with previous experience in warehousing, stocking, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and other related areas, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Possess the required Food Service sanitation certification.
• Possess forklift operation certification.
• Have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• The Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of hands-on experience as a buyer, purchasing agent, or procurement specialist is preferred.
