This role involves the acquisition of goods and services, including equipment acquisition, contracting for professional services, design and/or construction services, business contracts, maintenance services, consulting, and personal services. The Procurement Analyst is an experienced professional who applies theory to practice with an in-depth understanding of the procurement field. They independently perform the full range of responsibilities within the function, possess broad job knowledge, and analyze problems and issues of diverse scope to determine solutions. This role works on complex procurement assignments where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple purchasing options. The analyst has the authority to make purchases within a broadly defined dollar limit and exercises judgment to determine the most effective methodology to acquire common goods and services. They typically receive little instruction on day-to-day work, with general direction provided on more complex or unique purchasing assignments. Using skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures, they resolve a wide range of issues and demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
