The City of Coppell is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven procurement professional to serve as a trusted advisor to departments across the organization. In this role, you'll influence purchasing decisions that directly support our community by leading competitive procurements, developing innovative sourcing strategies, strengthening vendor partnerships, and delivering best-value solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, certifications, and progressively responsible procurement experience.
  • Experience administering competitive procurement processes, contract administration, vendor management, or purchasing activities in a governmental, public sector, higher education, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience interpreting and applying procurement policies, regulations, or contractual requirements.
  • Experience developing solicitation documents, scopes of work, contracts, or procurement-related documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and enterprise procurement or financial management systems, such as Tyler Munis or similar ERP platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Texas public procurement laws and municipal purchasing practices.
  • Current procurement certification, such as Certified Texas Contract Developer (CTCD), Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM), Certified Procurement Professional (CPP), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), or a comparable professional procurement certification.
  • Candidates not currently certified must be able to obtain an agreed-upon procurement certification within 18 months of hire.
