About The Position

Nutrition 101 LLC - headquartered in Pendleton, IN - is a niche provider of complex, eco-friendly liquid waste handling & feed solutions that offers innovative end-to-end solutions for the food processing lifecycle. 101 is the industry leader in the recovery and diversion of food waste byproducts. Our products recover millions of tons of food waste and convert them to livestock feeds creating value for food processors and livestock producers alike. The Processing Worker is responsible for handling materials and following procedures to de-package and prepare products according to Company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.

Requirements

Being able to understand/speak Spanish.
Physically able to perform the role safely and comfortably.
Able/willing to wear non-slip, safety shoes.
Able to work from 6 am till shift complete; sometimes will work into the evenings.
Able to work overtime into the evening, weekends and holidays, as required.
Able to work in a non-climate controlled facility.
Able to work around dairy products.
Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments with physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 – 75 lbs.
Able to be on one's feet throughout the shift.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a processing environment.
Able/willing to work without watches, jewelry, cell phones, or other extensions (i.e. artificial nails, eyelash/hair extensions, etc).
Must comply with all Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs_ and facility hygiene standards.
No jewelry, watches, or visible piercings (including facial or tongue piercings) are permitted inside the production area in accordance with federal food safety regulations (21 CFR 117.10)
Employees must be able to remove all jewelry and piercings prior to reporting to work in processing zones.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and reach to complete tasks.
Visual acuity/spatial awareness to ensure safe and accurate handling of materials.
Hearing ability sufficient to hear safety signals, warnings, and instructions.

Responsibilities

Understand, uphold, and abide by the Company’s vision, mission and core values.
Maintain strict adherence to all Company policies, processes and procedures in accordance with the Employee Manual, the Safety Manual, Department Manual(s), and The Animal Food Safety Plan.
Show up to work on time, as scheduled.
Follow verbal and written work instructions and production guidelines.
Don appropriate PPE, including Safety Shoes, while in the plant.
Clean containers and machines to prepare products for processing, storage or shipment.
Unload food waste products (weighing up to 40 pounds) for extended periods of time and manage equipment to organize the product for further processing.
Ensure product is delivered to appropriate storage and packaging waste generated from the de-packaging is baled or collected for follow-up actions.
Prepare semi-trailers for return to customer site.
Maintain clean and orderly job sites. Report any issues and/or spills to the supervisor.
Clean and sanitize totes according to checklists and company processes.
Attend all Company meetings and trainings as directed by management.
