About The Position

Our Home is seeking a skilled Processing Support Operator to join their team on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for preparing cooked and mixed corn-based ingredients according to the production needs. Operators ensure all equipment used in cooking and mixing is operating safely, cleaned properly, and follows quality and safety practices standards. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality masa for our signature chips and crackers. This position's typical schedule works Monday - Friday 3:00PM - 11:30PM with overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Working knowledge of food quality and processing standards
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Forklift certification is required
  • Ability to work well in a team while remaining self-motivated and independent
  • Able to stand and walk continuously for the duration of the shift up to 10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50–80 lbs. consistently throughout the day

Responsibilities

  • Support activities to meet or exceed business goals around Safety, Training, Quality, Production, and Cost
  • Prepare cooked and mixed batches of ingredients in accordance with production schedules and process specifications
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain equipment for cooking and mixing processes (e.g. kettles, steep tanks, corn washing, corn grinding, mixers)
  • Follow FEFO (First Expired First Out) best practices for all ingredients and raw materials
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure chips/crackers meet established standards
  • Accurately scale and load ingredients into equipment per batch and process sheets
  • Purge and sanitize pipelines before product or corn changeovers to prevent cross contamination
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any issues or concerns promptly
  • Complete all required production documentation (logs, batch sheets, ingredient usage) clearly and accurately
  • Carry out prescribed daily and weekly sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Comply with all GMP and food safety best practices
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Production Manager, Supervisor, or Sheeter Operator
