About The Position

This role involves working with and setting up equipment while performing cooking and processing of vegetables. The ideal candidate must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently. The position requires performing activities as required by HACCP and SQF, following all safety procedures, setting up all equipment on the processing line, and performing all aspects of processing potatoes, cabbage, and other vegetables, including retort cooking.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read & write English proficiently.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Safety conscious.
• Good recording skills and a sense for detail.
• Familiar with or able to learn computer displays and readouts.
• Must have or be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license.
• Ability to lift and move moderately heavy trays (40lbs) and racks.
• Ability to apply common reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Capable of working through problem-solving situations for the betterment of the situation.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak, read and understand English.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

• Obtain forklift and pallet jack license.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities as required by HACCP and SQF.
• Follow all safety procedures.

• Perform all aspects of retort cooking, processing potatoes, cabbage, and veggies.
• Perform various miscellaneous jobs on the lines when processing lines are not running.
