About The Position

Inspects and evaluates garments in terms of brand and quality to determine market value and prices according to guidelines. Monitors tagging or dock operations to insure timely availability of products for shipping. MANAGEMENT POSITION

Requirements

  • On-the-job training (serving as learner or trainee on the job under the instruction of a qualified worker). Essential experience in other jobs (serving in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher grade job or serving in other jobs which qualify). Over 30 days up to and including 3 months.
  • Must maintain compliance with Goodwill’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy.

  • Talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, acuity-near and depth perception.
  • Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: Medium Work: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects garments and evaluates in terms of brand and quality to determine market value.
  • Prices according to set guidelines.
  • Pulls all salvage and out of category from hanging garments.
  • Directs taggers and/or Dock, and monitors their work flow to insure store shipments are filled per schedule.
  • Supervises Hangers and/or Dock to insure time schedule and proper hanging procedures for categories are maintained.
  • Conducts semi-annual timing for sheltered employees under supervision.
  • Is directly involved in meeting with Dock and /or Textile Sorters to insure quality of garments being sorted and/or shipped.
  • Initiates/maintains records of attendance on hangers, taggers, categorizers and shipping.
  • Interviews, trains, evaluates and directs personnel assigned to the department.
  • Records behaviors and work ethics for trainees assigned to the department.
  • Checks supplies and orders in a timely manner to insure no delays in production.
  • Monitors safe operations and reports any unsafe actions to Logistics Manager immediately.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area.
  • In the absence of his/her supervisor, follows, enforces and provides training to ensure that all safety policies, rules and regulations are followed.
  • Completes and submits any necessary forms and/or reports immediately, but no longer than within 24 hours, when an incident occurs.
  • Maintains current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers First Aid and CPR as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
