About The Position
The Processing Plant Technician processes, treats, and packages seed for Beck’s, following day-to-day guidance from the Bagging Lead, Processing Plant Manager, or Production Location Manager. The position operates processing equipment, the seed treater, and the bagging line; supports quality control; and assists with seed production and related plant activities. Full-time applicants who receive an offer must complete a drug test and background check, subject to applicable laws, and employment is contingent on passing these screenings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations.
- Must successfully complete Beck’s Fork Lift training.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to pass a respiratory medical clearance evaluation may be required.
- Full-time applicants who receive offers must submit to a drug test and background check, subject to applicable laws; employment is contingent on passing these screenings.

Responsibilities
- Follow directives from the Bagging Lead, Processing Plant Manager, or Production Location Manager concerning processing products.
- Operate processing equipment in the plant.
- Operate the seed treater in the plant.
- Operate the bagging line.
- Communicate product quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Report the ongoing status of operations to the Bagging Lead, Processing Plant Manager, or Production Location Manager.
- Report supply needs to the supervisor to help continue plant operations.
- Aid in implementing and following quality control standards for processing, treating, and packaging products in the corn plant.
- Assist with husking, sorting, drying, discard, and shelling operations.
- Assist with seed box washing activities.
- Record bagging information for the Bagging Lead, Processing Plant Manager, or Production Location Manager.
- Perform other related duties as required by the Bagging Lead, Processing Plant Manager, or Production Location Manager.
