About The Position

Mixlab, a fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is hiring a Processing Pharmacy Technician in its New York pharmacy. This role is integral to ensuring smooth operations and making Mixlab a dependable resource for customers and veterinarians. The position involves preparing orders by confirming customer data, filling and labeling medications, and packing orders. Accuracy of patient information and records is crucial, as is checking prescription completeness. The technician will handle customer interactions professionally, partner with pharmacists and the logistics team to resolve issues and improve efficiency, and maintain accurate records and inventory levels according to regulations and company policies. Responsibilities also include maintaining an organized work area, cross-training in other pharmacy functions (customer service, logistics, compounding), and championing the pet parent experience by recommending digital process changes and troubleshooting bugs.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician directly with pharmacists in a compounding pharmacy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused (and pet-focused!) mindset.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative, team-player.
  • All-hands-on-deck attitude with an ability to remain calm and excel under pressure.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.

  • Not afraid of wearing multiple hats - pitch in to help the team when necessary.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to move boxes holding medications weighing up to 25lbs across the office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders for pet parents by confirming customer data; counting, filling and labeling medications; and packing orders.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient information and records, and update as necessary.
  • Check for completeness of prescriptions.
  • Handle customer interactions in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Partner with pharmacists and logistics team to troubleshoot issues, work on special projects to improve quality and efficiency, and drive a smooth operation.
  • Keep accurate records and monitor inventory levels in accordance with California State Board of Pharmacy & Federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an organized work area and upkeep the appearance of the pharmacy.
  • Cross-train across other Mixlab functions over time including customer service, logistics, and compounding.
  • Champion the pet parent experience by recommending digital process changes and troubleshooting bugs.
