About The Position

The Processing Operator works on the raw-product processing team at a snack factory, handling potatoes from arrival through peeling and maintaining steady product flow. The role involves operating the peeler station in the basement, monitoring raw material quality and equipment, and supporting safe, clean, food-compliant production. The work is hands-on and physically active in a warm, noisy, and sometimes messy environment. The schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 6:50 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pay is $20.25 per hour, consisting of a $19.25 base rate and a $1.00 shift differential. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a post-offer background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable law.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a warm, noisy, fast-moving environment.
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and stay active for 12 hours.
• Focus on safety, cleanliness, and doing the job correctly.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with machinery or food production; not required.
• Forklift certification, or willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Unload raw product and load it into hoppers for peeling.
• Run the peeler station in the basement and monitor its performance.
• Sort out defective product and foreign materials before they reach the line.
• Communicate with kettle operators to stay on track with production.
• Manage hopper levels to maintain consistent product flow.
• Operate conveyors and other powered equipment safely.
• Monitor raw material quality and uphold food safety guidelines.
• Clear waste bins and prepare the area for the next shift.
• Accurately complete logs and required paperwork.
• Report equipment issues or product concerns to the appropriate team.
• Use pallet jacks, forklifts, loaders, and stretch wrappers; training is provided.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Support the team during breaks and shift transitions.
• Perform other duties as needed by the supervisor.
