About The Position

The Processing Operator handles raw potatoes at the beginning of the snack production process, loading product into hoppers and operating and monitoring the peeler station. The role helps maintain consistent product flow, checks product quality and removes defective product or foreign materials, and coordinates with kettle operators to keep production on track. The operator also uses powered equipment, completes required logs, reports concerns, cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas, and supports the team during breaks and shift transitions. The work takes place in a warm, noisy, sometimes messy environment and requires staying active for 12 hours.

Requirements

Ability to work in a warm, noisy, fast-moving environment.
Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain active for 12 hours.
Focus on safety, cleanliness, and completing work correctly.
Clear communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with machinery or food production.
Forklift certification, or willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

Unload raw product and load it into hoppers for peeling.
Run the basement peeler station and monitor its performance.
Remove defective product and foreign materials before they reach the production line.
Communicate with kettle operators to stay on track with production.
Manage hopper levels to ensure consistent product flow.
Safely operate conveyors and other powered equipment.
Monitor raw material quality and follow food safety guidelines.
Clear waste bins and prepare the area for the next shift.
Accurately complete logs and required paperwork.
Report equipment issues or product concerns to the appropriate team.
Use pallet jacks, forklifts, loaders, and stretch wrappers; training is provided.
Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
Help the team during breaks or shift transitions.
Perform other duties as needed by the supervisor.
