About The Position

The processing operator operates and adjusts all process equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader. This role includes maintaining safe work practices, changing water knives, performing waste evaluations, operating and adjusting equipment, maintaining even lineflow, monitoring product quality, communicating with other personnel, understanding cleaning chemicals and product testing, working independently, shoveling product spills, and completing production forms. Other job functions include sanitation of the area, breaking of other areas, performing weekend cleanup, and participating in AMD drumbeats.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements for job actions and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
  • Ability to operate work related equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are . If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
  • Changes water knives as needed.
  • Performs waste evaluations and changes grader screens as needed.
  • Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Maintains even lineflow.
  • Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.
  • Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems.
  • Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Shoveling product spills.
  • Completes production forms as required.
  • Enters checks into computer.
  • Sanitation of area.
  • Breaking of other areas.
  • Performs weekend cleanup as assigned.
  • Performs and participates in AMD drumbeats.
