The Processing Operator role is responsible for maintaining production, safety, and quality by ensuring the operation of plant, machinery, and mechanical equipment. This role also backfills openings due to vacation, disability, or other absences to reduce or eliminate overtime.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate the Process responsibly to ensure operational efficiency, safety, productivity and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to backfill call-offs and other events as needed or directed by management.
  • Ability to support a WCO Pillar Board as a team member.
  • Ability to operate the Process, including daily rotation to the loader to stockpile and manage the raw material footprint.
  • Ability to maintain feeding of raw material via front end loader to the plant to ensure process stability.
  • Ability to participate in Weekly Maintenance Meetings.
  • Ability to perform and address plant and equipment cleaning.
  • Ability to actively support Journey Mapping Activities, HOP, WCO activities such as WPO, BDE, RIP reviews as well as Kaizen events.
  • Ability to address Plant DT events on shift to bring plant back to operation.
  • Ability to determine length and severity of each event, troubleshoot the root cause, and determine if additional resources are needed.
  • Ability to follow “call –in” procedure and convey information to Management.
  • Ability to ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Possess full understanding of the plant operating equipment and processes.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests as an equipment owner or subject matter expert.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by staying current with Process Technician Qualification Requirements.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by leveraging Shift exchange by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing information sharing.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with WPO procedures and rules.
  • Required to perform normal plant clean up, including removal of debris, hosing down and general plant facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting and grounds keeping at minimum weekly interval or daily as needed.
  • Supports Site Security measures and ensures compliance.
  • Update Production Tracking leveraging SAP BW and Daily Ops database for morning Meeting (3RD Shift).

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Process responsibly to ensure operational efficiency, safety, productivity, and environmental compliance, including Loader Operations/Bark pile Management and Control room operations.
  • Backfill call-offs and other events as needed or directed by management to address staffing issues, including single-day events like call-offs and sick time covered by the current crew and oncoming production crews.
  • Support a WCO Pillar Board as a team member, helping to plan and schedule activities during weekly meetings. Accomplish tasks such as PM completion, Monthly Inspections, RIP reviews, T&Q Data Collection, and keep the Board active and up-to-date with action plans, presenting the Pillar Board at monthly meetings.
  • Maintain the ability to operate the Process, including daily rotation to the loader to stockpile and manage the raw material footprint, feeding raw material via front-end loader to the plant to ensure process stability, and involves digging, ramping, and locating dry material to support stable operations. Loader operator also moves loaded char trailers.
  • Participate in Weekly Maintenance Meetings to develop, plan, and complete maintenance activities for the following week, including tasks assigned to Loader Operators for housekeeping and maintenance help during burnout and outages.
  • Perform and address plant and equipment cleaning, including hosing down the plant, sweeping, shoveling, and groundskeeping as needed.
  • Actively support Journey Mapping Activities, HOP, WCO activities such as WPO, BDE, RIP reviews, and Kaizen events.
  • Address Plant DT events on shift to bring the plant back to operation, determine the length and severity of each event, troubleshoot the root cause, determine if additional resources are needed, and follow the “call-in” procedure, conveying this information to Management and gaining approval for additional resources that would be covered on OT.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements (PMs or CILs) on conveyor systems and production machines; following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, OEM specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions and process failures. Leverage SAP PM to create work requests and follow-up orders to support historical plant maintenance data.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments and possess a full understanding of the plant operating equipment and processes.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests as an equipment owner or subject matter expert to complete T&Q Training Documents, Operating Procedures, BDEs, and Kaizens as required.
