This role is for a Process Technician who maintains production, safety, and quality by ensuring the operation of plant, machinery, and mechanical equipment. The role also backfills openings due to vacation, disability, or other absences to reduce or eliminate overtime. The position operates on a 12-hour shift with a rotational, 2-2-3 split schedule.

Requirements

• Ability to operate the Process, including daily rotation to the loader to stockpile and manage the raw material footprint.
• Ability to feed raw material via front-end loader to the plant to ensure process stability.
• Ability to ramp and locate dry material to support stable operations.
• Ability to move loaded char trailers.
• Ability to perform plant and equipment cleaning, including hosing down the plant, sweeping, shoveling, and groundskeeping.
• Ability to address Plant DT events on shift to bring the plant back to operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot the root cause of DT events.
• Ability to determine if additional resources are needed for DT events.
• Ability to follow “call-in” procedure for DT events.
• Ability to gain approval for additional resources for DT events.
• Ability to complete preventive maintenance requirements (PM’s or CILs) on conveyor systems and production machines.
• Ability to follow operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and OEM specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and process failures.
• Ability to leverage SAP PM to create work requests and follow-up orders.
• Ability to adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Full understanding of the plant operating equipment and processes.
• Ability to provide mechanical maintenance information.
• Ability to answer questions and requests as an equipment owner or subject matter expert.
• Ability to complete T&Q Training Documents, Operating Procedures, BDE’s, and Kaizens as required.
• Maintain technical knowledge by staying current with Process Technician Qualification Requirements.
• Responsible to seek training for any known deficiencies.
• Ability to maintain continuity among work teams by leveraging Shift exchange.
• Ability to document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing information sharing among WV Ops to ensure process stability.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with WPO procedures and rules.
• Ability to perform normal plant clean up, including removal of debris, hosing down, and general plant facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting, and groundskeeping.
• Ability to support Site Security measures and ensure compliance.
• Ability to update Production Tracking leveraging SAP BW and Daily Ops database for morning Meeting (3RD Shift).

Responsibilities

• Operate the Process responsibly to ensure operational efficiency, safety, productivity, and environmental compliance, including Loader Operations/Bark pile Management and Control room operations.
• Backfill call-offs and other events as needed or directed by management to address staffing issues, including single-day events covered by the crew on duty and oncoming production crews.
• Support a WCO Pillar Board as a team member, helping to plan and schedule activities during weekly meetings.
• Accomplish tasks such as PM completion, Monthly Inspections, RIP reviews, and T&Q Data Collection, keeping the Pillar Board active and up-to-date with action plans and presenting the Pillar Board at monthly meetings.
• Maintain the ability to operate the Process, including daily rotation to the loader to stockpile and manage raw material footprint, feeding raw material via front-end loader to the plant to ensure process stability, and involves digging.
• Ramp and locate dry material to support stable operations. Loader operator also moves loaded char trailers.
• Participate in Weekly Maintenance Meetings to develop, plan, and complete maintenance activities for the following week, including tasks assigned to Loader Operators for housekeeping and maintenance help during burnout and outages.
• Perform and address plant and equipment cleaning, including hosing down the plant, sweeping, shoveling, and groundskeeping as needed.
• Actively support Journey Mapping Activities, HOP, WCO activities such as WPO, BDE, RIP reviews, and Kaizen events.
• Address Plant DT events on shift to bring the plant back to operation, determine the length and severity of each event, troubleshoot the root cause, determine if additional resources are needed, and follow the “call-in” procedure, conveying this information to Management and gaining approval for additional resources that would be covered on OT.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements (PM’s or CILs) on conveyor systems and production machines; following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, OEM specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions and process failures.
• Leverage SAP PM to create work requests and follow-up orders to support historical plant maintenance data.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments and possess a full understanding of the plant operating equipment and processes.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests as an equipment owner or subject matter expert to complete T&Q Training Documents, Operating Procedures, BDE’s, and Kaizens as required.
• Maintain technical knowledge by staying current with Process Technician Qualification Requirements and is responsible to seek training for any known deficiencies.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by leveraging Shift exchange by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing information sharing among WV Ops to ensure process stability.
