About The Position

This role focuses on the pre-packaged meat section, including pre-packaged lunch meats, bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and more. These items are household staples, and the manager will ensure they are easy to find, fresh, and well-stocked daily. The position requires leadership in stocking, rotation, merchandising, ensuring quality and freshness, creating appealing displays, supporting and guiding the team, assisting guests, managing inventory and pricing, maintaining a clean workspace, and meeting daily department goals.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival to reimburse if associate obtains while employed)
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate others
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of technology and the use of a computer
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates
  • Knowledge and understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premise

Responsibilities

  • Lead the processed meats area, overseeing stocking, rotation, and merchandising of products like sliced deli meats, snack sticks, and pre-packaged proteins.
  • Ensure product quality and freshness by checking product dates and packaging to meet safety standards.
  • Create organized and appealing processed meat displays using store plans, end caps, and designated product placement.
  • Support and guide the team by setting clear expectations, reinforcing performance standards, and helping team members grow.
  • Support Meat Department associates in the absence of the Department Manager.
  • Assist guests by answering questions and recommending products.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating great guest service, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Manage inventory and ensure accurate pricing, maintaining appropriate product levels and correct labeling.
  • Maintain a clean workspace, including the backroom, cases, and sales floor, to support food safety.
  • Meet daily department goals for product availability and full displays by 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
