05 - Process/Test Engineering Support 2

Celestica International LP•Richardson, TX

About The Position

Provides complex technical support for printed circuit boards, subassemblies, production equipment, and related company products. Work involves substantial judgment and initiative, with minimal supervision, and may include recommending solutions to problems that affect goals beyond the department. The role may provide functional guidance to others and requires exchanging information with internal and external contacts to help solve problems. Issues not covered by established processes are referred to a manager or expert resource. The position sets up and performs involved tests, procedures, experiments, simulations, or changes; analyzes schematics and related technical information; operates and adjusts test sets and auxiliary equipment; and proves tests and test sets. It also supports the design and debugging of test fixtures, cables, and other test equipment, lays out circuitry for test fixtures that interface products with bench testing and specialized automated test equipment, and updates test-bed software. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, and hazardous substances. The role requires sustained visual concentration, repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, handling materials, and may periodically involve lifting objects over 20 pounds.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of relevant experience.
  • A two- or three-year community college diploma in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requirements may vary by geography.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems and their principles of operation.
  • Strong knowledge of the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment used in manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry, testing, and debugging procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer programming and ability to use position-specific applications such as C++, ECAD, and MCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools required for test assembly.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical measurement, calibration, and test equipment, including its uses and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and systems, troubleshoot problems, and make appropriate repairs.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics and repair methodologies.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and Windows applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal customers.
  • Ability to sustain visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, work in confined workspaces, use tools and equipment, handle materials, and periodically lift objects over 20 pounds.

  • Set up and perform new, unusual, or involved tests, procedures, experiments, simulations, or changes.
  • Read and analyze schematic diagrams, circuit descriptions, and similar technical information.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust test sets and auxiliary equipment.
  • Prove tests and test sets.
  • Assist with the design and debug of test fixtures, test cables, and other test equipment.
  • Design and lay out circuitry for test fixtures that interface products with bench testing and specialized automated test equipment.
  • Update test-bed software.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems and make appropriate repairs.
  • Provide functional guidance to others performing similar work, when needed.
