About The Position

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Process Technician for the 2nd shift. This role involves developing work measurement procedures and conducting time-and-motion studies to ensure efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities. The technician will also act as a backup for the Supervisor position when needed, apply Continuous Improvement Methodology, and ensure processes are de-coupled and running to established cycles. Responsibilities include setting parameters, completing cycle sheets, reviewing defects, and submitting cost-saving ideas. The role also requires adherence to safety protocols, including Lock-Out Tag-Out, wearing appropriate PPE, and safe operation of equipment like forklifts. Environmental responsibilities may include participation in emergency response teams.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have injection molding Certificates.
  • Hi Lo License, rigging, and crane training required.
  • Successfully complete all required training.
  • Must wear / use all PPE including hard hat.
  • Burn protection gauntlets must be worn anytime anyone opens a purge guard for any reason.
  • When using anything sharp, must wear cut gloves on both hands.

Responsibilities

  • Develops work measurement procedures and directs time-and-motion studies.
  • Acts as a backup for the Supervisor position.
  • Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards.
  • Applies mathematical analysis to determine validity and reliability of sampling and work study statistics.
  • Applies Continuous Improvement Methodology.
  • Reviews out of control conditions and makes necessary machine adjustments.
  • Documents all process changes in the change log.
  • Fills out necessary work orders for machine and tool problems.
  • Ensures that all products are running with a de-coupled process and to the established cycle.
  • Responsible for tryouts of new and existing tools on off shifts.
  • Sets perimeters and completes cycle sheet for document control.
  • Reviews defects with production manager daily and takes necessary steps to prevent defects.
  • Be an active member of IPPM & Scrap teams.
  • Submit required amount of cost savings ideas per year.
  • Must have Lock-Out Tag-Out training.
  • Must wear / use all PPE including hard hat and burn protection gauntlets.
  • Fill out daily process monitor sheet and react to out of control conditions.
  • Responds in a professional manner to any quality, efficiency, or safety concern.
  • Maintains safe driving speeds and awareness when operating a hi-lo.
  • Wears cut gloves on both hands when using anything sharp.
  • Acts as a supervisory assistant during routine activities and as the supervisor in case of absence.
  • May be required to function as a member of Environmental response action team, Fire brigade, First Responder.
  • Provides OJT to personnel where appropriate.
