About The Position

This role is for a Jr. Process Technician on the 3rd shift. The primary function is to perform the duties of a Material Handler and Set-Up Prep, and under the direction of a trainer, complete the required training to become a Process Tech I. The position involves providing workstations with raw materials, ensuring equipment operates properly, blending raw materials, grinding and blending scrap raw materials, and cleaning/maintaining equipment to avoid contamination. It also includes preparing tools and peripheral equipment for mold set-ups, assisting with mold installation and start-up, removing and storing molds and tools, and performing preventative maintenance on molds and auxiliary equipment. The trainee will perform tasks associated with their current training under guidance and complete all assigned work and assessments within established timelines. Additional responsibilities include maintaining 5-S standards, completing training assignments like job shadowing and coursework, and working within established safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete the Material Handler and Set-Up coursework
  • Minimum of 3-6 months working in the Material Handler position within Wise Plastics
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative to complete training and coursework and takes ownership of their learning
  • Collaborative team player
  • Ability to apply critical thinking in order to solve problems
  • Attention to detail and organized
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to read written materials and follow work instructions

Responsibilities

  • Providing workstations with raw materials
  • Ensuring dryers and vacuums are operating properly
  • Blending raw materials
  • Grinding and blending scrap raw materials
  • Cleaning and maintaining dryers, grinders, and other equipment to avoid contamination
  • Preparing tools and peripheral equipment for mold set-ups
  • Assisting with installation of molds and start-up activities
  • Removing and storing molds and tools after set-up
  • Performing preventative maintenance and TPM tasks on mold and auxiliary equipment
  • Performing tasks associated with current training under the guidance of a trainer
  • Completing all assigned work and assessments within established timelines
  • Maintaining and continuously improving 5-S standards within work cell
  • Completing assignments related to training such as job shadowing, assigned reading and coursework, Wisestein and ERP training
  • Working within established safety guidelines
  • Operating overhead crane and electric pallet jacks
  • Satisfactorily completing all assessments and assignments prior to advancement to the next level in training program
  • Working 2nd or 3rd shift
  • Working overtime as required
