About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up and operating all equipment to maintain operations in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring quality acceptable production requirements. The role involves documenting process steps, assisting in maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), evaluating equipment modifications, tracking process trends, performing attribute inspections, and understanding the duties of Service Technicians and Material Handlers. The technician will also perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Shift Responsible.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 -4 year experience in molding.
  • Must be familiar with plastic molding and troubleshooting machines.
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with individuals at all levels within and outside the company.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

  • Mechanical and electrical background.

Responsibilities

  • Document process steps to comply with approved guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’ (GMP) within the plant – including housekeeping on assigned production lines.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment modifications to improve efficiency.
  • Assist management in tracking process trends/genesis units.
  • Performs attribute inspections.
  • Know Service Technician and Material Handler duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Production supervisor or Shift responsible.
  • Distinguish different defects.
  • Know the different dimensions.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems & electrical systems of machines, have enough knowledge to troubleshoot minor problems.
  • Understand materials & cycles so as to explain why different materials require different cycles.
  • Make proper adjustments to machines when ware is not running to specs.
  • Know proper way to shut down and start up machines.
  • Have basic knowledge of all secondary equipment.
  • Set-up flaming line.
  • Mold heaters.
  • Train & assist other production operators.
  • Chart bottles using genesis system.
  • Assist in Garvey line setup.
