Job Description The Process Technician is expected to participate in the engineering and quality activities pertinent to the manufacture of quality SMC. The Technician supports plant processes with troubleshooting of equipment and methods. The Technician supports the installation, testing and implementation of new equipment and processes. The Technician collects data from plant processes to support production, quality, engineering and continuous improvement projects. The Technician leads projects as required. The Process Technician reports to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with basics of personal computer use
  • Basic word processing (Microsoft Word)
  • Basic spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
  • Good interpersonal skills and team work ethic
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Associate’s degree in an Engineering Technology discipline, or 2 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Support the implementation of the necessary procedures to ensure customer quality requirements and product needs are met.
  • Establish and maintain good working relations with all Internal Departments and External Contacts.
  • Coordinate disposition of non-conforming SMC material placed on quality hold.
  • Aid in the maintenance of the Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plan for plant processes.
  • Work on process improvements and projects initiated from PFMEA, Capital Improvements, Customer Concerns, material rejections, or cost reductions initiatives.
  • Support the installation, testing and implementation of new equipment and processes
  • Participate in safety, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement teams.
  • Troubleshooting of plant equipment and processes.
  • Provide off-hours support as required.
  • Perform viscosity testing as part of weekend lab rotation
  • Working directly with maintenance personnel for troubleshooting and support.
  • Lead projects as required.
  • Train production personnel in the operation of equipment and processes.
  • Create work instructions for equipment and plant processes.
  • Assist Process Engineer with review of operator and system performance.
