About The Position

The entry level Operating Technicians typically work in chemical process operations using a Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other automated systems. Operators are also responsible for the HSE/Quality/Reliability performance of their process areas. The operating technicians work the every other weekend off (EOWEO) 12 hour rotating shift. Overtime will be required at times.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work on shift teams.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, with demonstrated mechanical ability preferred.
  • Trouble shooting: Utilizing critical thinking, sound decision making, and disciplined problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Chemical Operator certificate or degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of Kraton products.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Adjusting equipment control settings and recording data.
  • Process sampling and field analysis as required.
  • Monitor processes and perform routine area surveillances.
  • Lubricate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Preparing equipment for maintenance and inspecting completed maintenance work with craft workers.
  • Moving raw and processed materials.
  • Performing routine safety equipment checks and other audits.
  • Operate and maintain packaging equipment.
