Process Technician
About The Position
The Process Technician will observe and record production operations, review operational schedules, and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. This role involves inspecting machines and equipment for optimal performance and utilization, seeking methods to improve standard operational and working practices, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and operating efficiency. The technician will also coordinate with mold set technicians, department supervisors, and production personnel, perform preventative maintenance, assist in training, and drive scrap reduction. Additionally, the role supports the process engineer in optimizing cycle times and troubleshooting injection molding machines.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School diploma
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good Mathematical and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and GMPs
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting skills, preferably in injection and blow molding processes
- Ability to work for up to 12 hours at a time on Day shift or Night shift
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related area and at least one year's work experience
- Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen experience/certification
Responsibilities
- Observe and record production operations

- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
- Seek methods to improve standard operational and working practices
- Observe workers, molding machinery, and conveyors to ensure compliance with safety standards and operating efficiency
- Coordinate with mold set technician, department supervisors and production personnel for parts, tooling, equipment, and machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and equipment as directed
- Work with the machine attendants and supervisors in training personnel
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
- Drive scrap reduction on the production floor
- Assist process engineer with optimizing cycle times
- Ensure presses are running at optimized cycle
- Troubleshoot injection molding machines as issues arise
