About The Position

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining manufacturing machinery, ensuring material accuracy, performing start-ups and shut-downs, and addressing mechanical issues. The position also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety policies, and participating in Lean Manufacturing events. Additional packing duties may be required, including gathering supplies, inspecting products, and packing finished goods according to specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform material jams/clearing in machinery.
  • Ability to monitor machines for mechanical problems by listening for unusual noises and visually checking gears, hoses, gauges, materials, etc.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects by hand or use hand pallet jack.
  • Ability to immediately take corrective action for any machine stoppage; notify Lead or Supervisor and request maintenance assistance in the event of serious problems with machinery of parts and assist in problem solving if other personnel are required.
  • Ability to recognize and correct safety hazards as they are identified.
  • Ability to maintain assigned lines in a clean and orderly condition; follow all safety policies and procedures including lockout/tag out, GMP practices to meet company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
  • Obtain and ensure correct roll stock or other material is used and located by machinery.
  • Position all rolls of material on unwinder and thread film through the machine.
  • Perform Thermoforming Machinery start-ups and shut downs.
  • Perform material jams/clearing in machinery.
  • Monitor machines for mechanical problems by listening for unusual noises and visually checking components.
  • Lift heavy objects and clean work area, machines, and equipment.
  • Take corrective action for machine stoppages, notify Lead or Supervisor, and request maintenance assistance for serious problems.
  • Recognize and correct safety hazards.
  • Maintain assigned lines in a clean and orderly condition, following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing Events as required.
  • Gather packaging supplies and build carton boxes.
  • Inspect products for functional and major/minor defects.
  • Compare product or material with sample to verify conformance to standards.
  • Sort and pack finished product into containers according to customer specifications.
  • Stack finished cartons on skids in proper pattern.
