Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Rotating shift experience preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic mathematics, reading comprehension, and problem-solving skills.
  • All candidates are evaluated using the WorkKeys Test.

Responsibilities

  • Remove old wearing parts and replace with new in Filter Leaf Building, including outer band, hub band, and cloth.
  • Inspect wearing parts of filters, including hub, core board, poly mesh, and rubber seals, replacing any parts that need replacement.
  • Install new cloth onto the hub, ensuring proper trimming and seal placement.
  • Flip the leaf over and repeat previous steps, then place the outer band around the leaf and tighten.
  • Load leaf into the transport rack.
  • Remove spent leaves from filters, inspect internals (sluice nozzles, rollers, lining material, bearings, hangers), and replace parts as needed.
  • Blind the filter using specified blinds, which may require multiple people.
  • Open the filter door and rinse the inside.
  • Remove and resecure the sluice header.
  • Remove shaft nut, forward bearing assembly, and bracing arm.
  • Remove leaves one by one until the center bearing assembly is reached, then remove it and the remaining leaves.
  • Inspect and replace sluice nozzles, sluice bar rollers, lining material, rear shaft bearing, center hanger, and forward hanger as necessary.
  • Load new leaves onto the shaft, ensuring proper alignment with keyways and sluice nozzles.
  • Install hangers correctly and lock them in place.
  • Tighten the leaf pack using the shaft nut, involving multiple tightening and rotating cycles.
  • Ensure clean surfaces on the filter door and sealing ring, install a new door gasket, and close the door without damaging leaves.
  • Line up the filter door and pull it towards the sealing ring, potentially adjusting the swing bolt.
  • Install T-bolts evenly, maintaining pressure on the door gasket and ensuring it is not pinched.
  • Remove blinds and secure flanges, replacing gaskets as needed.
  • Clean and prep Isom & Epim Columns: blind the column, disconnect nitrogen inlet, open the bottom door, vacuum resin, enter the column (with CSE permit) to remove old caulk, inspect nitrogen inlets, install new caulk, replace door gasket, reinstall door, pull blinds, and reconnect nitrogen line.
  • Remove spent Microfiltration Membranes: remove end caps, push out old membranes and spacers, replace o-rings on spacers, install new membranes and spacers with lubrication, install end caps, reconnect permeate lines, tighten flanges, and check for leaks.
  • Dispose of old membranes and packing material.
  • Dump bleach and surfactant into appropriate tanks using a fork truck to elevate and tilt totes, then take empty totes to Old Stores.
  • Stage calcium pallets on pallet lift and chemicals at Cooling Tower as needed.
  • Empty process trash cans and dumpsters.
  • Perform Building GMP tasks.
  • Unload various truck deliveries (resins, chemicals, membranes, etc.).
  • Stage materials in correct areas using a fork truck and freight elevator.
  • Receive and stock materials delivered from Stores.
  • Restock empty filter bag cans.
  • Lead teams in assistance for membrane changes, garnet washing, garnet loading, and quartz loading.
  • Manage the Daily Track List (railroad cars on tracks).
  • Perform 4th-floor clean-up, including removal of empty totes, unused pallets, and sweeping floors.
  • Perform various other duties as required by process needs.
