About The Position

The Process and Development Specialist is a hands-on technical role responsible for implementing, optimizing, and industrializing manufacturing processes and new products. Working across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance, the position improves safety, quality, throughput, Right The First Time performance, cost, and equipment reliability. Key technologies include roll forming, TIG and laser welding, extrusion, annealing, and fiber cable manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Industrial experience in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Manufacturing areas of minimum 5 years.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment, analyze data, and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with manufacturing safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with welding, roll forming, extrusion, annealing, metal forming, cable manufacturing, or related processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development, process transfers, production trials, qualification, and launch.
  • Industrialize Lead-Free ESP cables, power drilling cables, fiber products, welded and floated plug-drawn products, and Tube Encapsulated Cable laser welding under engineering guidance.
  • Support equipment planning, installation, commissioning, validation, and production readiness.
  • Assess process performance, collect and interpret data, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Improve welding speed and quality, extrusion performance, RFT, production output, scrap, cost, and process stability.
  • Provide hands-on shop-floor troubleshooting of equipment, tooling, materials, and processes; coordinate with Operations and Maintenance during breakdowns and start-ups.
  • Develop and maintain process settings, work instructions, drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical records.
  • Establish and support preventive maintenance standards for roll-forming tooling, extrusion dies and tips, welding fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Support Management Plan 2027 initiatives, integration of new manufacturing assets, and the newly acquired fiber plant.
  • Collaborate with Taunton and other Prysmian facilities to transfer capability, standardize processes, and reduce outsourcing.
  • Provide practical support for Laser and FIMT 2 upgrades, Gulf of Mexico product deliverables, and tube-mill setup at the China manufacturing plant, as assigned.
  • Train operators and technical personnel on process changes, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and welding practices.
  • Support knowledge transfer and succession planning within the Bridgewater process team.
  • Communicate process issues, scrap, faulty equipment, discrepant material, and unusual operating conditions to the appropriate teams.
  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately and participate in corrective actions, training, inspections, meetings, and audits.
  • Ensure new or modified processes meet applicable safety and environmental requirements.
