About The Position

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials is hiring a Process Relief Operator at its Midlothian, Texas location. The operator relieves production staff across several areas, including Mill Operator I and II, Process Attendants for the Mill, Kilns, and Roller Mills, Scrubber and RTO, Process Assistant, and Dust Hauler. The role involves operating production and material-handling equipment, following safety procedures, performing minor maintenance, and addressing or communicating operational issues. Employees work a rotating shift and should be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Plant experience or knowledge of Finish Mills and Kilns and their operation.
Ability to operate the listed hand tools and equipment.
Willingness and ability to learn new tasks, with considerable focus on safety.
Ability to work a rotating shift and with little or no supervision.
Ability to perform minor maintenance and reason through operational issues.
Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility.
Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Good attendance and an excellent work and safety record.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English is preferred.

Responsibilities

Relieve operators across production areas: Mill Operator I, Mill Operator II, Process Attendants (Mill, Kilns, and Roller Mills), Scrubber and RTO, Process Assistant, and Dust Hauler.
Operate an air lance, jackhammer, shovel, hoe, pry bar, wheelbarrow, broom, and hand tools.
Operate a skid steer loader, forklift, and tractor-trailer rigs.
Learn new tasks and operate with a strong focus on safety.
Work a rotating shift.
Work as a self-starter with little or no supervision and maintain a positive work attitude.
Perform minor maintenance.
Maintain good attendance and an excellent work and safety record.
Reason through operational issues and resolve them or communicate them to others.
Understand hazards associated with assigned areas and follow Lockout/Tagout procedures.
