About The Position

The Relief Operator fills in wherever needed in the Hermanville sawmill, operating different machinery and covering other operators during breaks, vacations, or absences. This permanent full-time role works Monday through Friday and offers a pathway for career advancement. Hourly wage and bonus opportunities vary based on position and shift.

The operator learns and performs multiple sawmill roles, monitors lumber and wood-product quality, follows safety procedures, troubleshoots machinery and production issues, coordinates with coworkers to support continuous production, and maintains accurate activity and issue logs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a sawmill or industrial setting, with an understanding of machinery and production processes.
• Proficiency in operating different types of sawmill machinery.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new roles and responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think on your feet.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
