About The Position

The Process / Mechanical / Plumbing Engineer provides technical expertise and supports engineering design and project execution for mechanical and process systems. This role performs engineering assignments of moderate complexity within a multi-discipline environment. The position contributes to planning, design, and construction phases while ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum five (5) years of related engineering experience
• Experience with mechanical systems, piping systems, or process equipment design
• Knowledge of P&IDs, design calculations, and engineering specifications
• Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards
• Experience supporting design, estimating, and construction documentation activities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Familiarity with computer-aided drafting applications
• Ability to work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting DOE or Federal Government projects
• Nuclear project experience
• Practical field or construction experience

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and supports mechanical and process engineering design activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.
• Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, specifications, and design documentation related to piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), as well as mechanical systems, water systems, and equipment design.
• Supports accurate development of design deliverables and ensures technical requirements are met through coordination with project stakeholders, including engineering teams, project management, vendors, and clients.
• Participates in procurement support activities, reviews design calculations, and contributes to construction documentation and field support as needed.
