About The Position

The Process Improvement Specialist will be responsible for prioritizing and implementing process change requirements based on critical needs and exposure to risk. This role involves reviewing current processes, metrics, and performance trends to identify root causes, and then designing, developing, and executing processes or projects through all phases of planning, communicating, training, and implementing to achieve expected results. The specialist will also audit the completion of project and grant objectives, operational and fiscal responsibilities, and develop communication and training for recommended changes. This position requires the use of project management skills and tools, and the development and implementation of communication and training plans. The role ensures policy management documents align with organizational strategies and documents how process improvement efforts contribute to the strategic plan. Additionally, the specialist will participate in data preparation, review, interpretation, and analysis to support the master strategic plan, including employee engagement and key performance indicators. The role also involves developing and ensuring the completion of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for audit findings and researching innovative, continuous improvement solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience with process change or continual improvement.
  • One or more years of experience with project management.
  • In lieu of an undergraduate degree, will accept training or experience in 2 of the following: Project Management Professional, Human Centered Approach to Development, Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Business Process Improvement, Root Cause Analysis or Perigon Process Improvement Certification.
  • Disciplined, structured, and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of continuous improvement mindset and learning agility.
  • Strong process knowledge with the ability to identify root causes and champion solutions.
  • Facilitation skills across all business units and all levels of the organization, able to guide/influence decision-making processes.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and be willing and able to learn new software programs as required.
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens.

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt professional or completion of Green Belt certification required within 1 year of hire.

  • Participating in the preparation, review, interpretation, and analysis of data that supports the execution of the master strategic plan, including employee engagement, key performance indicators, and other measurable outcomes.
  • Developing, participating, and ensuring the completion of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) processes which address audit findings.
  • Researching, exploring, and creating innovative, tailorable, continuous improvement solutions.
