About The Position

Flex is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support its teams in Coopersville, Michigan. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the intern will help solve complex problems and generate ideas for a global organization, applying creativity and innovation while developing entrepreneurial skills. The intern will contribute to business-relevant projects and support real-time business issues while building skills and experience.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field at an accredited university.
• Available for 10–12 weeks.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others.
• Self-motivated, high energy, and strong time-management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and team orientation.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing decisions by calculating production, labor, and material costs and reviewing production schedules.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide manufacturing engineering information in response to questions and requests.
• Interface with hardware, power, and other peers to understand system architecture and design constraints.
• Create mechanical design concepts for products and clients using mechanical tools.
• Assist in designing mechanisms to improve installation and serviceability.
• Assist with testing and executing experiments for mechanical system optimization.
• Work with the team to build and test prototypes.
• Diagnose prototype, assembly, or design failures and make recommendations.
