About The Position

The Process Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and improving machine processes, developing work instructions, and training employees. This role involves providing technical assistance, investigating operational problems, and participating in projects aimed at reducing downtime and scrap. The Process Engineer will also manage new mold sampling, validate process development, and ensure adherence to quality system requirements. Communication with management and tracking inventories are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (preferably manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering related)
  • Minimum of 2 years' work experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality Assurance functions preferably within Injection Molding Plastics Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • SAP & Data Analysis (such as Minitab) experience a plus
  • Desired attainment of nationally recognized certification in manufacturing engineering, such as AME or SME
  • Self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve machine process
  • Develop work instructions
  • Train employees on new or modified processes
  • Provide technical assistance to process technicians and machine attendants
  • Determine root cause and provide corrective action for customer product complaints
  • Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation (work instructions, process setup instructions, and maintenance requirements)
  • Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production
  • Participate in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap
  • Communicate closely with management team members regarding all aspects of quality control
  • Track inventories and order supplies
  • Manage new mold sampling including all documentation
  • Validate process development efforts and interaction with part quality
  • Provide feedback to corporate engineering
  • Adhere to quality system requirements and focus on continuous improvement
  • Drive ToolingU - SME training at the plant level
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by plant manager
