The Process Engineer will be based onsite in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality, and delivery improvements to support a manufacturing organization. Requirements

  • Must have experience and understanding of wave solder process and equipment.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.
  • 1 year minimum in lead or supervisory role.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience with factory layout and process flow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MES is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable with customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product.
  • Define, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
  • Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process, individually or with other engineering stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily production activities and effective problem-solving for daily issues.
  • Prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production.
  • Support and oversee new process equipment production.
  • Support the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
  • Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues.
  • Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and select various engineered materials.
  • Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
  • Implement safety, productivity, and give-in improvements.
  • Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
  • Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities and give-ins.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Review processing methods.
  • Interface with production on all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
  • Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
  • Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
  • Guide cost improvement/reduction programs.
