About The Position

This role leads process improvement initiatives within a Distribution Center, utilizing tools and methods such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate losses according to the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. The Process Engineer is responsible for delivering expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, loss elimination, and the creation of standard work to reduce process variation. This position also involves assisting with the review and response of process improvement projects owned by area managers, applying new network 'One Best Way' playbooks, and providing input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. The role supports the tactical deployment of the WPS program methodology, manages project execution for top losses in the functional area, and aids in building the capability of other area managers and associates. Additionally, it supports area loss profile analysis and performance metrics, develops gap analysis for WPS integration, and assists Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements. The Process Engineer leads savings projects within their area of responsibility by identifying and eliminating process losses, promotes and supports company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and coordinates job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability, and promoting continuous learning. The role also involves supervising and developing associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and fostering a sense of belonging. Ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity through action plans and guidance is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or prior experience in Process Improvement OR 2 years' of process improvement, or relevant work experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
