About The Position

This position provides leadership, direction, and problem-solving skills to eliminate manufacturing conflicts, document improvements, and maintain positive relations with our customers. This position will be supporting Howmet Aerospace/Tempcraft locations in Cleveland, OH and Brecksville, OH. The role involves being a customer service liaison, developing and approving new and revised Activity Instructions criteria in tool and die manufacturing, and ensuring tool processes comply with the Corporate Tooling Manual. The Process Engineer is responsible for identifying root causes of deviations, developing reaction plans, and understanding downstream product quality as it relates to die-making. Additionally, this role supports the development and implementation of a core injection pre-shipment process and assists the Core Die technician in test injections.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering and/or a combination of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all strata of the organization.
  • Be punctual in meeting assignments.
  • Have cooperative and loyal teamwork attitude.
  • Heavy Excel abilities including formulas, pivot tables.
  • A minimum of five years in a manufacturing environment is strongly suggested.

Responsibilities

  • Be a customer service liaison between our facility and core injection facility.
  • Develop and approve new and revised Activity Instructions criteria in the tool and die manufacturing areas.
  • Daily interface and communication of issues with manufacturing, maintenance, and facilities personnel responsible for the wax areas.
  • Ensure that the tool processes are performed in compliance with the methods, materials, and equipment specifications as detailed in the Corporate Tooling Manual (TM).
  • Determine the root cause of any deviation from a critical process specification and develop a timely and formal reaction plan which will include an escalating help chain system.
  • Understand downstream product quality as it relates to die-making and react appropriately to observed conditions.
  • Routinely review process for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of approved process.
  • Develop and implement a core injection pre-shipment process.
  • Support Core Die technician in test injection of completed tools.
  • Receive communication from customers to resolve issues internally and externally.
  • Interact with leadership and operations to manage quality and output.
  • Ensure that our quality meets customer defined requirements in the Product Criteria.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and initiate service when required.
  • Support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Support and align with all EH&S metrics; actively participate, promote, and comply with all EH&S programs and policies.
