About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, high-quality production of thermoplastic compounds. This role plays a critical part in supporting our commitment to delivering consistent quality and exceptional customer service, while driving process improvements in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in process engineering, ideally in plastics compounding, extrusion, or polymer processing.
  • Familiarity with thermoplastic materials, compounding equipment (twin-screw extruders, feeders, etc.), and material testing methods.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and certifications: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Proficient in process control tools and statistical analysis (e.g., Minitab, SPC, DOE).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong EHS culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, reduce cost, increase quality, and ensure consistency of product performance.
  • Provide technical support to production teams for process-related issues, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to scale up new product formulations from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Collect and analyze process data using statistical methods to monitor trends, identify variances, and drive improvements (e.g., SPC, DOE, Six Sigma methodologies).
  • Ensure all processes comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Lead or support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance workplace safety.
  • Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Production teams to ensure process reliability and customer satisfaction.
