About The Position

The Process Engineer will manage the electrical and electronic aspects of all current machinery and future engineering projects, focusing on design, automation, troubleshooting, and enhancement. This role involves reviewing and modifying PLC programming to ensure process continuity and improvements, completing projects within scope and budget, and assisting production with troubleshooting and process variances. The engineer will also attend management meetings, identify cost-saving and safety improvement opportunities, develop and train electrical technicians, and perform installation and calibration of instrumentation. HMI programming and other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or associate degree in same with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-directed individual. Ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve results.
  • Strong PLC programming (Allen-Bradley) and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Basic burner knowledge (North American burners preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Understand and be willing to accept change and find "new ways" to tackle existing issues.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Safety oriented and focused.

Responsibilities

  • Management of electrical and electronic aspects of all current machinery as well as future engineering projects as it relates to design, automation, troubleshooting, and enhancement.
  • Review current PLC programming and modify as needed to ensure process continuity and/or enhancements.
  • Complete projects within scope and budget in agreed upon time frames. To include, but not limited to, wiring schematics, specifications, and operator training.
  • Assist production in troubleshooting and other process variances.
  • Attend weekly management meetings and update members as to project status.
  • Look for opportunities to minimize costs, improve safety, and streamline operation wherever possible.
  • Develop and train electrical technicians in the organization.
  • Willing to work weekends or off-shifts as needed to resolve problems, projects, or emergencies.
  • Installation and calibration of instrumentation. (Pressure transmitters, flow meters, RTD, etc.)
  • HMI programming (iFix or PLC-5)
  • Other duties as assigned.
